Gai Maito, a handsome and youthful sensei in the series of "Naruto", deserves more recognition than he has. A club dedicated to him here on dA to show our love may seem meager, but it's the best we can do.

Gai is a handsome man with many good points. He seems to play a relatively minor role, mainly comic relief and toothpaste endorsement, but has Kakashi beaten by one in many of their little bouts (which can consist of anything to a 100-meter dash, or a rock-paper-scissors round).

He leads a team of powerful ninjas: First there's Rock Lee, his faithful and devoted slave, er, apprentice, in the arts of Taijutsu, since he can't really do anything else. His perserverence (and fuzzy eyebrows) grabbed the attention of Gai though, and is probably loved the most by Gai, despite the competition. Then there's Tenten, who seems to be just there, but is actually pretty good with all kinds of ninja tools, because her aim is never off. And then there's Neji Hyuuga, the most powerful of the group, whom Lee aspires to defeat.

To join and become a member of our club, you must send a note (do not leave comments on the front page, they will probably be missed and/or ignored), that says YOUTH in the subject, and pretty much anything in the body. As long as you like Gai-sensei, you are more than welcome to this club. Also, DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE CLUB for updates and stuff.

To submit fanart send a note titled SUBMIT or FANART or whatever you like as long as we know you're giving us permission to put those links in our fanart journal. Also, don't forget the link of said art. If you want the piece to have a title, add the title to the note so we can add it as well into the journal. *nodnod* Don't forget, the art must have Gai in it and we prefer it clean okay? If it isn't, mark it as such. We won't turn away art but we will give others the choice of not clicking on it. *nodnod*

9-11-06 -YOSH! We have a new member. Welcome ~Desert-Reqium to this wonderful YOUTHFUL club! Contest is still up, therefore we always look foreward to new youthful submissions.

Contest Information

All right, we'll start an easy little contest here. Draw an inspiring youthful picture. Whatever inspires YOUTH in your heart!

Rules:

1) Must contain Gai or some referance of Gai.

2) Can have any other characters but keep it clean. This if for the youth, not the adulthood. *nodnod*

3) Can have two entries per person.

Prizes: Sadly our prizes are of teh suxors except for activity points which are explained in the members' journal, and recognition.

I am upping the prize to a colored picture for the first place, an inked picture for the second placed, and a sketch for the third. The pictures shall be requests from the winners. I generally have no problem with drawing anything, so if and when you win, tell me what you would like. *nodnod* The more details on what you want the sooner I'll have it done too, cause that means less thinking for me. XD

Which we get things rolling, we'll have better things up, like picture prizes and the ability to pick contests themes and maybe even subscription if we're rich enough.

Each contest will officially end exactly one week after our fifth entry. This gives time for late people to enter, while giving a good amount of time to actually get a picture in. This is so people have a fair chance to actually win instead of winning by default, which is no fair contest. If someone notices the fifth entry went up, there will be a notice, and they need a time extension, they can send a note with a suggestion of how much time they may need. Once more people start participating, the deadline will increase to ten entries, to fifteen, and so on so forth. It shouldn't get above twenty or twenty five though, unless we get reeaaaally popular. So, send in those entries or we may never have a new contest. oO

Sidenote: This is a club dedicated to Gai-sensei and only Gai-sensei...other people are welcome in teh pictures but only if it's funneh, or buddy buddy. We find that a lot of the Gai-pairings are a bit (Not JUST a bit, you moron) disturbing. XD (personally I'm starting to not mind GaixKakashi all that much....but still, this club isn't for Kakashi now is it? hehe) So keep it clean and give the ultimate sensei the respect he deserves! *cheers*
